Destiny Kills – Spotlight & Review
Destiny Kills by Keri Arthur
(From back cover)
“Desire calls. Danger Lurks.
But…When Destiny McCree wakes up beside a dead man on an Oregon beach, she knows only this: she has to keep moving, keep searching, and keep one step ahead of the forces that have been pursuing her from the heart of Scotland to this isolated spot. Why? The death of her lover has left her alone, with little memory of her past. A glimmering serpent-shaped ring is the one clue she has—and a bargaining chip in a most dangerous game.
Enter Trae Wilson, a master thief with a sexy, knowing grin and a secret agenda of his own. Destiny and Trae both have powers far beyond the human—and both are running for their lives. Together they’re riding a tide of danger, magic, and lust…but with killers stalking their every move, they must use any means necessary, even each other, to survive—until the shocking secret of one woman’s destiny finally unravels.…”
Random House Canada was kind enough to send me a copy of this book, Destiny Kills by Keri Arthur, the first book in her Myth And Magic Series. I found it be original and a really intriguing story. The sparks fly and the chemistry between Destiny and Trae is hot! They are definitely put through their paces, but it’s exhiliarating and carries you through their world which has been written with an excellent mythology behind it.
Mystery, non-stop action and danger, romance, and wonderful world building all rolled into a wicked, sexy ride! Thankfully, book two in the series, Mercy Burns is a go and I for one can’t wait to read more about this world. Keri Arthur also writes the Riley Jensen Series, and book 7, Deadly Desires will be out April 2009.

At Grave’s End – Spotlight & Review
At Grave’s End by Jeaniene Frost
(From Back Cover)
“Some Things Won’t Stay Buried … At Grave’s End
It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield’s life. With her undead lover Bones at her side, she’s successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat’s worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover’s finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.
As if that wasn’t enough, a woman from Bones’s past is determined to bury him once and for all. Caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful vamp, yet determined to help Bones stop a lethal magic from being unleashed, Cat’s about to learn the true meaning of bad blood. And the tricks she’s learned as a special agent won’t help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire instincts in order to save herself – and Bones – from a fate worse than the grave.”
Anyone who’s been reading my blog for awhile knows that I am a huge fan of this series, and Ms. Frost does not disappoint with At Grave’s End, the third book in the series. It’s like a run-away train that you’re hanging on to for dear life because you can’t stand to not find out what’s going to happen. I always find myself totally wrapped up in the characters, their situation, their feelings and the outcome. Absolutely outstanding writing! This series would make for a wicked TV series or movies. I would so love to see it all on screen.
Cat and Bones are just wicked together and the surrounding cast of characters are varied and really well rounded. The plot flies, the danger is intense, the characters grow and the world building is phenomenal. If you haven’t been reading this series, then you are missing out on some seriously awesome urban fantasy. Run, don’t walk to pick up Halfway To The Grave, One Foot In The Grave & At Grave’s End.

The next book in the series, An Early Grave is due to be released July 28th, 2009!

Night’s Pleasure – Spotlight & Review
Night’s Pleasure by Amanda Ashley
(From Back Cover)
“Savanah Gentry’s life was so much simpler when she was a reporter for the local newspaper. That was before her father’s sudden death drew her into a mysterious new world she was just beginning to understand. A Vampire hunter by birth, Savanah has been entrusted with a legacy that puts everyone she cares for in danger – including the seductive, sensual Vampire who unleashes her most primal desires…
Rane Cordova has always been alone, half hating himself for his dark gift even as he relishes its extraordinary power. But one look at Savanah fills him with the need to take everything she has to give and carry her to heights of unimagined ecstasy. And though he never intended their relationship to go this far, now Savanah is in more danger than she knows – and facing a relentless enemy determined to eliminate Rane and all his kind.”
Everytime I read one of Amanda Ashley’s books, I am reminded yet again why I fell in love with the Paranormal Romance genre and why I continue to love this genre! Written by a master of her craft, Night’s Pleasure satisfies on several levels. I was rooting for Savanah and Rane all the way through. They are both wonderfully complex characters and their story is one that will stay with me. A mysterious and sexy magician/vampire pairing up with the beautiful and stubborn reporter/vampire hunter equals some major sparks flying. A lot of sighing and swooning went on while reading this love story.
Amanda Ashley has Mara’s story, tentatively titled – Night’s Mistress coming out this year. I’m really looking forward to it! She also has another awesome sounding stand alone book in the works as well, but you can read all about it HERE. To find out more about Amanda Ashley and all her great books, swing by her WEBSITE.

(And because I just found out that Amanda is also a Twilight fan like me, I’m going to use “Edward’s” to rate the book instead of my usual dancing devils or butterflies! Hope I’m not violating any copyright laws here)
Now I’m off to do some more swooning! LOL 🙂
