Tempted – Spotlight & Review
“So…you”d think after banishing an immortal being and a fallen High Priestess, saving Stark”s life, biting Heath, getting a headache from Erik, and almost dying, Zoey Redbird would catch a break. Sadly, a break is not in the House of Night school forecast for the High Priestess in training and her gang.
Juggling three guys is anything but a stress reliever, especially when one of them is a sexy Warrior who is so into protecting Zoey that he can sense her emotions. Speaking of stress, the dark force lurking in the tunnels under the Tulsa Depot is spreading, and Zoey is beginning to believe Stevie Rae could be responsible for a lot more than a group of misfit red fledglings.
Aphrodite”s visions warn Zoey to stay away from Kalona and his dark allure, but they also show that it is Zoey who has the power to stop the evil immortal. Soon it becomes obvious that Zoey has no choice: if she doesn”t go to Kalona he will exact a fiery vengeance on those closest to her. Will Zoey have the courage to chance losing her life, her heart, and her soul? Find out in the next spectacular installment in the House of Night Series, Tempted”
I loved it! Another awesome installment of the House Of Night series by P.C. & Kristin Cast. I’m finding it hard to write a review without giving away any spoilers because some major things happen in this book, but here goes…
Zoey, Stark, Heath, Stevie Rae, Aphrodite and the rest of the gang are still coping with the aftermath of the battle with Kalona and Neferet and they hit the ground running, so to speak. They are unsure of what’s going on at the House Of Night school and have to find their way back there. Some major plot twists take place, Zoey is faced with plenty of obstacles and has to make some hard decisions and other characters also struggle with everything that has happened as well as with what has to be done. Zoey continues to be strong in the face of danger, matures into her role of High Priestess and wants to smack her head into the wall sometimes with having to deal with three love interests.
Although I absolutely loved this book, I am not a fan of major cliff-hanger endings, which Tempted has. Obviously, I’m dying to read the next book now because of it, but I wish the authors’ hadn’t left us hanging like that! (Just my personal opinion). All in all, I couldn’t put the book down and can’t wait for the next book, Burned which will be out on April 27th, 2010.
