Ugh! This has pretty much been me for the last week. I had my touch-up’s done on my dragon fairy tattoo and added a little something that you’ll see when it’s all healed and I post the picture. 🙂 (That’s the only good thing to come out of last week!) Went to the doctor twice last week, had x-rays done on my knee and heel, am super dazed from some new, strong allergy meds and was pretty much in the same shape as that poor Ram in the graphic thanks to a not so lovely virus. Yep, Sidhe is sick and still fighting it. Bleh…

So no, I’m not dead, lol, just sleeping a lot! I read a few amazing books and hope to get my reviews up shortly. I have author Bernita Harris here on Wednesday guest blogging along with a giveaway to celebrate the release of her book, Dark And Disorderly! I just wanted to let you all know what’s up with my recent M.I.A. status. I hope you’re all doing awesome and reading amazing books.

Quick Note

Sorry I’ve been MIA – Again! I’ve been burning my retina’s out staying awake reading because I’ve been working my way through Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse books. I love, and I mean LOVE them! There really need to be more than 8 books. 😦

So I will be having a Halloween Contest with 3 winners, posting November releases and getting some reviews up as well. Yes indeed. I needs to get some sleep though, lol. Zombudi (Zombie + Judi =Zombudi) is on the loose right now, bwaa ha ha. I’ll be back with some Halloween treats after this…

Edited to include:

I also forgot to mention that if any of my Canadian readers, (or any readers), are on Chapters Community, you can find me there as well under Judi-Sidhe Vicious! Please feel free to friend me or join up in the Urban Fantasy Readers group, which I moderate.  🙂

Quick Update

Sorry I’ve been quiet lately. I had MORE computer grief last Friday. If you’re interested, you can read my post HERE. I also got really sick on Friday and I’m still feeling like a Mac Truck ran me over and dragged me for about a hundred miles through a hail storm. I had to miss my best friend’s Bridal Shower & Bachelorette on Saturday from being ill, so I hope you all, along with her, will forgive me my absence.

I’m posting reviews for the next couple of days and then my interview and contest with author Rachel Caine! She writes the Morganville Vampires series and the Weather Warden series, of which book 7, Gale Force, is being released on August 5th. I’ll also have my spotlight and review of Gale Force up alongside the interview & contest. 🙂

Here’s a teaser of the cover for you.

Eternal – Spotlight & Review

  • Mood: if I told you I’d have to kill you
  • Listening To: Combichrist
  • Currently Reading: Unshapely Things
  • Location: wrapped in blankets with my heating pad

Sorry I haven’t posted in a couple days. I was reading The Vampire Diaries: The Fury & Dark Reunion, but I just can’t seem to get through it. I will never say that there is a “bad” book, but there are some books that I just can’t seem to maintain interest in at times. I’ll try again another time, and post the review then. In the mean-time, I cheated and am half way through Unshapely Things by Mark Del Franco. It’s really good so far. And to be totally frank, I really shouldn’t be reading anything right now because I’m overdue on my writing assignment for school. So until I get the finished piece off to be graded, I’m just going to post reviews on books I’ve read in the last month or two, as well as continue to add to my bookshelf list. So here’s the review:

Eternal by V.K. Forrest    Published Dec. 2007 by Kensington Books

Format:Trade Paperback

Published:November 19, 2007

Dimensions:352 Pages

Published By:Kensington

The following ISBNs are associated with this title:
ISBN – 10:0758217161
ISBN – 13:9780758217165

( from back cover ) “Centuries ago, the shipwrecked vampire clan known as the Kahills came ashore on the sleepy Delaware peninsula of Clare’s Point. In Eternal, V.K. Forrest introduces readers to the ravishing, undead Fia Kahill, an FBI agent, who’s in danger from a vampire slayer – and the one man she must resist but can’t…

ETERNAL   FBI agent Fia Kahill has just learned her cousin Bobby McCathal is dead. His body is found burned, and his head and hands are missing – the unmistakable calling card of a vampire slayer. When more vampires’ corpses surface, Fia knows it’s only a matter of time before the killer catches up to her. But that’s not her only worry. She’s been assigned to work with FBI agent Glen Duncan who is the spitting image of Ian, the man she once loved – and the man who betrayed her…

Four hundred years ago, Ian used his relationship with Fia to infiltrate the clan and kill as many of them as he could. Fia promised herself she would never make the mistake of loving a human again. With the murders in Clare Point escalating, Fia has no choice but to trust Glen even as her promise is becoming more difficult to keep. Fia wants Glen like no other man she’s ever desired – and before she knows what’s happening, she is deeply immersed in a forbidden love affair. But this time the consequences could be far graver than Fia ever could have imagined. For a killer has her in his sights as his next deadly victom…”

I liked this book, the author creates an interesting history for this clan of vampires. I also liked the way that it shows the “humanity” of vampires being vulnerable in both emotions and afraid for their lives. There’s action, romance, conflict and a satisfactory conclusion. The charcters are realistic, easy to empathize with and fun to read about. I’ll be looking for more books by this author, and this one stays on my “keeper” shelf!
