The Reviewers

 Sidhe – (Judi)

I am the owner/editor of Sidhe Vicious Reviews. I am a book-a-holic who is taking a creative writing course to further my ambitions of writing a novel. I’m also taking a Medical Transcriptionist course as well. I enjoy reading, TV, movies, gardening, spending time with family and friends, putzing around fixing computers, and spoiling my three “furry children”, a dog & two cats. Oh, and I also drink enough tea to drown a horse daily! 😀

I began my love of reading about Vampires, Werewolves, Fae, and other paranormal creatures that go bump in the night way back in the early 90’s with books such as: Bewitching Love Stories, an anthology by Shannon Drake, Kasey Micheals, Christina Skye & Rebecca Brandewyne, Prince Of Wolves by Susan Krinard, I, Vampire by Micheal Romkey, The Werewolf’s Kiss by Cheri Scotch and of course, Anne Rice’s Vampire books. It’s snowballed from there.

I read Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, Light Fantasy, Young Adult and Graphic Novels in said genres. I’ve also been known to read the odd historical romance if they involve uber-sexy highlanders, vikings or knights and usually with a good dose of humor and time-travel. Heh!:D  If any Authors, Publicists or Publishers would like a book review, please contact me at sidhevicious@gmail.com  Any author’s interested in doing an interview, guest blog or contest to promote your books, please contact me at my email address as well.

My reviewing style consists of spotlighting the book and then stating what I liked, or (not often) didn’t like about it. I don’t subscribe to the let’s pick the book apart and post spoilers for several paragraphs theory. Each to their own, but I believe that we all have our own tastes (likes and dislikes) when it comes to books, and I just post my honest opinion on it, without spoiling it either way for others.

An INTERVIEW with me at Bookluver – Carole’s Reviews. My very first ever.

-Tori-

Tori is a self-proclaimed raging book-a-holic with a love of things that go bump in the night. She’s a huge fan of Stephenie Meyer, Maggie Steifvater, Lauren Kate and Becca Fitzpatrick. She loves to lose herself in a book with great story-telling and amazing characters. She’s also a deicated Twilight fan or technically a Twi-Mom if you will.

Tori is a loving wife and mom who is a legal secretary by day and a music loving literary vampire by night. Good thing she isn’t a real vampire though or she wouldn’t be able to enjoy going on cruises or spending time on the beach at Myrtle Beach which she loves to do! She’s also mom to a few furry kids, (cats & dogs), of her own.

Tori’s favorite genres include: Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy, Young Adult and it looks like she slips in some Thrillers and regular Romance as Ted Dekker and Penny Jordan are also some of her favorite authors. 🙂

  1. I am a 40-something book-a-holic and also enjoying reading, TV, Movies and all the other things you do as well. My household also has 1 dog and 2 cats and my three “furry children” are well spoiled. As I sit here typing my Calico Tabby is coiled up on the side of the couch asleep and my Male Chihuahua is on the top of the couch staring outside waiting for something to bark at. My Tomcat is in my Husband’s workshop hanging out waiting to come inside the house for the night due to a freeze warning tomorrow morning..

I had to comment and let you know that since found your particular review site that am sticking around because you are right not to do spoiler reveiws. I have not read many of the books you review like others out there and it is nice to find a place that picks out the good and bad without going into so much detail no longer need to read the story… Thank you for that, really appreciate you being that thoughtful for those of us who love books and also love to have some surprises left when get to read the book ourselves. Kind of like the movie trailers they make that hit every plot point possible so why pay to watch the movie after seeing the trailer? Same premise…

I will lurk a lot and every once in a while as get the time comment and enter contests for books, love those books from authors and publishers coming in the mail makes it like getting a present every time one arrives….

    • Hi Jackie!

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and let me know that you’re enjoying my blog. I appreciate your thoughts and opinions.

I’m also glad to hear that I’m not the only one who treats my dog and cats like children, lol. They really are amazing little fur-babies and I love them. My 12 year old Cocker Spaniel, is always by my side and he usually barks at anything and everything if I let him look out the window! 😀 Then I have my 5 year old “fat cat” who is my little lovebug – he’s always on my lap if I sit down, and then there’s my 2 year old Angel. He’s just my beautiful boy and I have to smooch his little head and ears everytime I pick him up, lol.

It’s also great to hear from others who don’t care for the spoiler book reviews. I hate when I see a review that basically outlines the entire book and picks it apart!? Don’t they get that they’re actually ruining it for everyone? Has no one told them? Sheesh!

      Cheers!

  2. Ahhh, finally a book reviewer who doesn’t give the ending away! Your blog rocks! And I’ve got you topped on four legged children…two dogs, one cat, two iguanas, a bearded dragon, one Uromastyx, two hens, and one rooster….and a partridge in a pear tree.

    • Thanks! Yeah, it bugs me when I go to read a review of a book and they pretty much summarize the entire plot in 5 paragraphs!? Grrr… That is definitely not something you’ll see on here.

Yup, you win in the four legged children category, hands down, lol. That must keep you pretty busy, or at least out of trouble, taking care of that many pets. 😀

It’s nice to “meet” you and I hope to hear from you in post comments again.
